Because of our community, our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has reached an important milestone. We can now care for babies born as early as 32 weeks gestation and weighing more than 1500 grams, right here at STEGH.
To reach this milestone, specialized equipment was needed. Thanks to our community, our NICU has been strengthened with new Isolette incubators, a new Resuscitaire and other priority tools that support safe, responsive care for newborns who need it most.
You gave. Together, we achieved it.
With this support, STEGH advanced our NICU from Level 2A to Level 2B, expanding our ability to care for more premature infants closer to home.

For parents, this means fewer transfers, fewer miles on the road, and more precious moments beside their newborn during those fragile early days. It means grandparents nearby. Familiar faces. The comfort of home when it matters most.
For our region, these upgrades strengthen local capacity by ensuring clinical teams have the tools they need to deliver high-quality neonatal care, easing pressure on nearby hospitals and helping more families access specialized care close to home.
From the tiniest patients and the families who love them, thank you.
